Goal

To redesign their logo that would speaks true to their Mexican heritage as well as what they represent as Chicago’s first all-women mariachi.

Being a female [of Mexican descent] born and raised in Chicago, I was thrilled when I was chosen to be the designer of this project.

We wanted to revamp our logo, we wanted something that was simple, clean but also spoke true to what we do and represent. — Ibet Herrera

The Process

When it came down to designing the logo, I wanted to make sure I merged a couple important elements that represented the Mariachi Sirenas brand: Mexican elements like mariachi suits and bright colors [each member of the group wears a different color]; a musical element like the violin and feminine and siren elements like the sirena tail and waved, serif text.
